WILMINGTON, NC - Ethan Blose (Monroeville, Pa./Franklin Regional) qualified for the IC4A championships with his third place finish in the javelin on Saturday at the Cape Fear Track Classic held at The University of North Carolina-Wilmington. Blose posted a personal best 202'05" throw to earn the third place finish behind Virginia's Brian Kollar who was a 2000 NCAA and Olympic Trials qualifier and Virginia's John Welch who was also a 2000 NCAA qualifier in the event. Blose also placed eighth in the discus throw with a throw of 136'09.00.
Mark Brault (York, Maine/York) and Jim Fischer (Dumont, N.J./Bergen Catholic) both earned second place finishes for Lafayette. Broult cleared a height of 14'00" in the pole vualt to earn his second place finish, while Fischer posted a 49'9 1/4" throw in the shot put for second place. Fischer also earned a fifth place finish in the hammer throw with a throw of 148'3" and sixth place in the discus (146'9").
Chris Nixon (Perrineville, N.J./The Pedie School) posted a personal best in the triple jump with a jump of 41'09.25, which earned him a sixth place finish in the event.
The 4x100 and the 4x400 relay teams both ran to third place finishes with times of 43.19 and 3:19.71 respectively.
The Leopards will return to action on March 31 when they will host a meet against St. Joseph's, Fairleigh Dickinson and Monmouth College.
