Men's Lacrosse Falls Short Versus Sacred Heart

Fairfield, Conn. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's lacrosse team fell to Sacred Heart today in Fairfield after a grueling match that ended a three game winning streak for the `Pards. Sacred Heart's Stephen Grabow scored with :01 second remaining to put the Pioneer's up 13-12.

Senior Morgan Battle (Princeton, N.J./The Hun School) notched three goals to move his season total to 20 while sophomore Matt Prevost (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga) also scored three goals to place him at 10 for the year. Sophomore attackman Mike Fiorillo (Bayville, N.Y./Locust Valley) posted three points on two goals and an assist.

Sacred Heart (7-5) was led by Mike Robel who scored a hat trick while adding four assists.

Leopard goalie Duncan Woodard (New Canaan, Conn./St.George's) recorded 13 saves to bring his season total to 170.

Attackman Kevin Bromby (Ipswich, Mass./Governor Dummer) posted a goal and two assists to lead the Leopards in total points with 41. Senior Drew Stotler (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) scored a goal and added two assists to place himself second on the team with 10 assists on the year.

Additional Lafayette points were posted by junior Ted Blackburn (Sea Cliff, N.Y./North Shore) with two goals, and freshman Drew Weisman (Meguon, Wis./Avon Old Farms) with an assist.

Lafayette (5-6) will return home to take on Marist under the lights at Metzgar Fields on April 25 at 7 p.m.
