Lafayette Women's Basketball Drops League Game At Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Leopard women's basketball team dropped a 68-35 decision to archrival Lehigh on Wednesday night in Bethlehem, Pa.

Lafayette (3-17, 1-6) grabbed a quick 4-0 lead 1:35 into the contest on a Colleen Fitzpatrick jumper. The Leopards led 10-9 with 12:10 left to play in the opening stanza, but Lafayette failed to connect on another field goal for the rest of the half, as Lehigh went on a 21-2 run to take a 30-12 lead into the locker rooms.

Lehigh took control led by Carli Toliver's 10-point effort as the Mountain Hawks continued to stretch their lead in the second half. Toliver and Anne Tierney each finished the game with 13 points apiece while Tierney pulled down 10 boards to pace Lehigh.

Fitzpatrick led Lafayette with 10 points followed by Laurie Infantino with seven as the Leopards turned in a season-low 35 points for the game.

Lafayette returns home to host league foe Bucknell on Saturday at Kirby Sports Center. Tip-off is schedule for 1 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased right here at GoLeopards.com.
