Lafayette Track Competes at Armory Invitational

NEW YORK (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette track and field team participated in the prestigious Armory Invitational this past weekend in New York City, competing against opponents from over 23 universities.

Sophomore Machal Morrison opened the men's meet with a first place finish in the 60-meter dash (6.88) in a time that qualifies him for the IC4A Championship meet in Boston, Mass. on March 2 and 3.

The men's Distance Medley Relay team of Colin McDonough, Alvin Lyte, Reginald Clay and Carlos Garcia ran to a time of 10:19.11 which also qualifies them for the IC4A meet.

Senior thrower Jim Fischer qualified for the IC4A meet in the shot put event in which he placed sixth (51 feet, 2 1/4 inches).

Sophomore Kristopher Carey placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles event, finishing with a time of 8.51.

On the women's side, Natalie Bosserman set a Lafayette record with a time of 57.99 in the 400-meter run.

The women's Distance Medley Relay team of Anna Sherman, Elizabeth Hallowell, Erin Wyble and Lauren McHale qualified for the IC4A Championship meet as well as the ECAC Championships with a time of 12:06.12.

McHale also ran to a 10th place finish in the mile run with a time of 5:04.62.

Lafayette returns to action on Feb. 15-17 when it competes in the Patriot League Championships hosted by Army.
