Women's Basketball Falters In Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. (www.lafayette.edu) - Mary Rose Campbell recorded her third career double-double to lead Holy Cross to a 90-44 victory over Lafayette in the Hart Center Tuesday night.

With 9:18 left in the first half and the game tied at 19, Holy Cross (16-6, 7-2 Patriot League) went on a 25-4 run to take a 44-23 halftime lead. The Crusaders shot 61 percent in the first stanza while holding Lafayette (3-19, 1-8 Patriot League) to 42 percent shooting. Holy Cross picked up where they left off in the second half and outscored the Leopards 46-21. Lafayette committed 27 turnovers and was out-rebounded by a 40-26 margin.

Lafayette was led by Elizabeth Rojahn's 13 points, while Lindsay Myers added 12 points in the loss.

Campbell came off the bench to lead Holy Cross with 11 points and clear a game-high 10 rebounds. Three other Crusaders joined Campbell in double figures. Katie O'Keefe scored 12 points, while Amanda Abraham chipped in 13 points and Jeanette Paukert added 13 points and dished out game-high nine assists. The victory was Holy Cross' 19th straight home win and 58th consecutive victory against Patriot League opponents at the Hart Center.
