EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette opened up a 3-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 15-3 domination of Wagner in non-conference men's lacrosse action Saturday at Rappolt Field.
The Leopards (3-8) were led by Matt Prevost, Ted Blackburn and Pat Lennon. Prevost scored a second-quarter goal and assisted on three other Lafayette scores. Lennon found the back of the net three times, while Blackburn scored one goal and dished out two assists.
Scoring two points each in the Leopards' victory were Robert McLean (2 goals), Mike Fiorillo (1 goal, 1 assist) and David Crean (1 goal, 1 assist).
Lafayette, which held a 7-1 halftime lead, outshot the Seahawks by a 50-25 margin and won 19 of the 22 face-offs.
Wagner's James Servidio scored twice to lead the Seahawks (2-8), while Ted McLaughlin notched a goal and both Jason Hassler and Jim Fagen recorded assists.
Kevin Devito (10 saves, 1 GA), Mike Neary (1 save, 1 GA) and Michael Koch (2 saves, 1 GA) divided the time in the Lafayette net. Phil Mackenzie (12 saves, 15 GA) spent the entire game in goal for Wagner.
Lafayette returns to action on Wednesday at Marist in a 4 p.m. start.
