Leopard Volleyball Falls to Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) -The Lafayette volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (20-30, 15-30, 17-30) decision on the road to Bucknell on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Veronica Canto-Ponce (La Jolla, Calif.) led the team with nine kills as well as nine digs. Sophomore Catherine Herchnroder (Breezy Point, N.Y.) also had nine digs for the Leopards. Heidi Olichwier (Arlington Heights, Ill.) had 18 assists in the match.

The Bison were led by Brandi Trapasso and Jackie Leahy with 13 and 11 kills respectively. Breean Trapasso had 35 assists and 16 digs for Bucknell.

Lafayette fell to 5-12, 0-4 with the loss. Bucknell improved to 8-8, 4-0.

The Leopards will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. in Kirby Sports Center when they host Holy Cross in their fifth Patriot League contest.
