(www.lafayette.edu) - Tickets for the 2003-04 Lafayette men's and women's basketball seasons are available and can be purchased directly through Lafayette's ticket office by calling (610) 330-5471, through email (tickets@lafayette.edu) or right now through the Leopards' full-service online ticket service. This is the fourth consecutive year that tickets to Lafayette sports events are being sold conveniently online.
Lafayette, which has led the Patriot League in men's basketball attendance five of the last six seasons, has four starters returning to the men's program. Ninth-year head coach Fran O'Hanlon's squad was recently picked to finish second in the Patriot League preseason poll of head coaches and sports information directors. Two of the Leopards' quarter of returning starters -- senior guards Winston Davis and Justin DeBerry -- were chosen to the Preseason All-Patriot League team.
The Lafayette women's basketball team returns two-time All-Patriot League forward Colleen Fitzpatrick as well as former All-Patriot League Rookie team members Lindsay Myers and Kristin Doherty. Third-year head coach Tammy Smith also welcomed six new faces to the squad this season, including five freshmen and a transfer.
Both teams open with opponents from the BIG EAST Conference. The Leopards' men's squad opens the season on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Rutgers in a 7:30 p.m. tip-off, while the women open at Kirby Sports Center by hosting Georgetown on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m.
