EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Junior Colleen Fitzpatrick (Springfield, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) and freshman Kristin Doherty (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) both garnered All-League honors on Wednesday. Fitzpatrick earned her third straight Patriot League trophy, and second consecutive All-League Second team honor. Doherty became the ninth Lafayette freshman named to the All-Rookie team in as many years.

Fitzpatrick was a member of the All-Rookie squad in 2001 and the All-League Second team last season. This season the 5-11 forward ranks fourth in the league in scoring (16.5 ppg), sixth in rebounding (7.6 rpg) and has six double-doubles to her credit. Fitzpatrick led the Patriot League in field goal percentage (58.4) for the third consecutive season and finished the regular season ranked 13th in the country.

Fitzpatrick was the only player to start in all 27 contests for Lafayette this season, averaging over 35 minutes per game. She led the team in scoring in 17-of-27 games, including a career-high and school record 38-point effort against Bucknell to win the Player of the Week award (Feb. 24). Recently, Fitzpatrick became only the seventh Leopard in women's basketball history to reach the 1,000-point, 500-rebound plateau.

Doherty was named to the All-Rookie team on the strength of being Lafayette's third leading scorer at 7.3 points per game. Doherty is second on the team in assists (1.7 apg), and she ranks eight in the conference in free throw percentage (77.6).

A solid contributor all season, Doherty started 16 games and leads all Leopard freshman in minutes played (23.6 mpg). She garnered Rookie of the Week honors once (Dec. 9) after filling up the stat sheet with 17 points, eight assists and six rebounds in her first collegiate start against Fairleigh Dickinson.

Lafayette finished the regular season at 3-24, and 2-10 in conference contests and will square off against Holy Cross in the opening round of the Patriot League Tournament on Friday at 12 p.m.
