HAMILTON, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette softball team dropped identical 8-0 games to Colgate on Monday in the Leopards' final Patriot League games of the season.
Elena Isaac hurled a perfect game for the Raiders in the opener, throwing five innings and striking out two batters. Kate Howard and Erica Nesselroad then combined for a no-hitter in the second game.
Colgate scored three unearned runs in the first inning with the first two runs scoring on errors and the third run coming in on Amanda Brickell's sacrifice fly.
The Raiders pushed the lead to 7-0 in the second inning on an RBI single by Kim Olmstead and a two-run double by Dorothy Donaldson. Colgate capped the scoring with a run in the fourth inning coming off a Donaldson RBI single.
Megan Longo took the loss for the Leopards, giving up three hits and seven runs (all unearned) in two innings.
Melissa Rawson handled the offense for the Raiders in the second game, with a three-run home run in the third innig and a walk-off homer in the fifth. Stacy Mui also went yard for the Raiders.
Lauren Belowich gave up eight runs on seven hits in taking the game two loss.
Lafayette ends the season with an overall record of 5-31.
