Lafayette Volleyball Falls to American 3-0

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) -The Lafayette volleyball team was defeated by American 3-0 (13-30, 19-30, 20-30) in their second Patriot League match up of the season.

Freshman Veronica Canto-Ponce (La Jolla, Calif.) led the team with nine kills and two block assists, while sophomore co-captain Catherine Herchenroder (Breezy Point, N.Y.) had seven digs. Senior Caroline Eshman (Bethesda, Md.) also chipped in with six digs and three kills.

Karla Kucerkova led American with 17 kills and 10 digs. Sabrina Vasconcelos had 30 assists for the Eagles.

The Leopards fell to 5-10 overall, 0-2 in Patriot League play with the loss. American now stands 5-8 overall, 2-0 in league play.

Lafayette will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 1 as they travel to Colgate for a 7 p.m. match up.
