HAMILTON, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's women's soccer team wrapped up the 2004 season with a 3-0 loss at Colgate on Friday night.
The Raiders scored twice in the first half in locking up the Patriot League regular season championship. Colgate (10-6-1 overall, 5-1-1 Patriot League) will host the four-team Patriot League tournament next weekend.
Carolyn Warhaftig opened the scoring in the 19th minute, heading in a Jackie Burch free kick for her fifth goal of the season. Ali Bernardini's third goal of the season made it 2-0 at halftime.
Freshman Franny Iacuzzi closed out the match with her 14th goal of the season. The rookie leads the Patriot League in points (33) and is tied for the league lead in goals.
Kelly Kuss assisted on Colgate's final two goals, bumping her league-leading assist total to 11.
Colgate's Luisa Miller made three saves in the first 80 minutes before giving way to Brittany Pearsall, who finished off the shutout.
Colgate held a 16-5 edge in shots for the match.
Lafayette concludes the 2004 season 4-12-0 overall, 0-7-0 in Patriot League play.
