WEST POINT, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Ronee Farrell scored two goals in the first 17 minutes of the match to help Army improve to 5-1-1 in the Patriot League with a 3-0 win over Lafayette on Friday night at West Point.
The setback ends the Leopards' season at 2-11-4, and 0-6-1 in league play. The Knights are 11-5-1 overall and already secured one of the four playoff berths heading into the league championship.
Farrell's goals came at 5:58 and 16:35 in the first half. Delaney Brown assisted on the first score, while Jen Pascucci scored an unassisted goal in the 29th minute for the Black Knights.
Rebecca Garcia made four saves for the shutout. Mary Kate Erdman played the first 80:40 of the match in goal for the Leopards before giving way to freshman Hannah Fink.
Army had 21 shots to Lafayette's 12, and held a 4-3 advantage in corners.
The Leopards will graduate one senior, back Ellie Burke, and return every player on the roster who scored a point in the 2005 season. Caroline Tuttle matched her first year output with five goals as a sophomore, and Jenny Polak scored three as a freshman.
