HAMILTON, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Colgate improved to 3-3 in the Patriot League with a 3-0 win over Lafayette in women's volleyball on Saturday afternoon.
Katrina Zawojski had 18 kills for the Raiders, which recorded a hitting percentage of .291 for the match. The Raiders hit .432 in the first game, with 20 kills on 37 attacks, for a 30-21 win.
The second game was deadlocked at 31-all before Allie Nichols hit one of her three service aces, and a Lafayette attack error gave Colgate the game.
Zawojski closed the third game, and the match, with a kill in a 30-27 win.
Nichols had 38 assists to direct the Colgate attack. Marybeth Maziarz contributed 12 kills, and Jackie Adlam had a match-high with 19 digs.
Veronica Canto-Ponce led Lafayette with 14 kills, while Karla Barbiche had 17 digs and Michaela Donohue made 11. Megan Carter handed out 26 assists for the Leopards.
Lafayette falls to 1-5 in the Patriot League and 10-9 overall. Colgate is 4-15 on the season.
The Leopards will take the court next on Friday, Oct. 14 in Bethlehem as they close the first half of league play at Lehigh.
