EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette softball team will conduct hitting clinics for middle school and high school players, ages 12-18, on Saturday, Jan. 20 and Saturday, Feb. 3 from 9 until 11:30 a.m. at Kirby Sports Center.

Head coach Jeanine Gunther, the 2006 Patriot League Coach of the Year, assistant coach Marisa DeStasio and the Leopards' players will teach clinic attendees fundamental and advanced skills of hitting in the 2 ½ hour sessions. Drills will focus on developing a compact, explosive swing and maximizing bat speed, and players will receive individual attention throughout the sessions.

Check-in at Kirby Sports Center begins at 8:30 a.m. for both clinic dates. The cost for each session is $35, and the registration deadline to guarantee your space is Jan. 15.

Players should be dressed appropriately for indoor activity and should wear sneakers. Bats and helmets will be provided, but players are encouraged to bring their own equipment if available.
