Leopards Blank Towson 1-0 in Stony Brook Tournament

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette women's soccer team used an unassisted goal in the 84th minute from junior forward Kelly Koreyva to triumph 1-0 over Towson in the final game of the Holiday Inn Express Invitational at Stony Brook University on Sunday.

The goal came off a direct kick with 6:26 left in regulation. It was Koreyva's first of the 2006 season and second of her career.

Leopard junior goalkeeper Mary Kate Erdman continued an impressive start to her season by recording five saves to go with her first shutout of the season.

Goalkeeper Brandi Daniels made three saves for the Tigers, who fell to 2-2-1 on the year.

The Leopards will have three days off before resuming action in a non-conference game against Wagner on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
