LEWISBURG, Pa. - Freshman Christa Matlack scored two goals and one assist, as Bucknell beat the Lafayette women's soccer team 6-0 on Sunday afternoon on Varsity Soccer Field in Lewisburg, Pa.

Cailtlin Holtz began the scoring for the Bison 5:21 into the contest as she tucked a long range shot just under the crossbar for her first collegiate goal off a feed from classmate Kelliann Doherty.

At 14:41, following a long pass Matlack found Krista Lee Gentile in the box and Gentile completed the play by netting her fifth of the year.

Matlack stretched the advantage before the intermission, beating Lafayette senior goalkeeper Mary Kate Erdman one-on-one at 15:53.

To open the second half, Matlack struck again as she corralled a cross inside the box and beat Lafayette freshman goalkeeper Brittany Futterknecht.

In the 58th minute, Chelsea McGorry tallied another Bison goal to extend the lead. Bucknell added a goal from Kimberly Cannon to give the Bison the victory.

Lafayette managed 10 shots on the afternoon and forced five corner kicks in Bison territory. Erdman and Futterknecht split time in goal for the Leopards and finished with save totals of eight and three, respectively.

The Leopards will wrap-up the 2007 season next Saturday when the team returns home for Senior Day at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium.
