EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette softball series with Holy Cross, originally scheduled to begin on Saturday, has been moved up a day to Friday due to the threat of rain on Sunday afternoon.
Action at the Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, with the second game of the doubleheader to follow. First pitch on Saturday is still slated for 12 p.m.
The Leopards enter the weekend with a 3-5 Patriot League record and a 13-13 mark overall, following a doubleheader sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday. Holy Cross is winless thus far in eight league contests.
Lafayette seniors Megan Averbuch and Jill Masterton both have personal milestones that are well within reach this weekend. Averbuch is just five strikeouts shy of setting the career strikeout record, and Masterton needs two hits to tie the school record of 150 set by two-time Patriot League Player of the Year Jen Rothrock from 1994-97.
