EASTON, Pa. - Sixteen men's lacrosse student-athletes have been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, a mark that ties Lafayette with Bucknell for the league lead in the sport.
To be named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll a student-athlete must earn a minimum 3.20 grade-point average (GPA) and a varsity letter.
Trevor Ortolano graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering after maintaining a 3.32 GPA. The midfielder ended his final season with the Maroon and White with seven goals and an assist. Midfielder Matt Mersky was among the honorees with a 3.25 GPA and was the Leopards' leading point scorer with 24 (15 G, 9A) in his freshman season. Classmate Jason Montoya led the group with a 3.78 semester GPA.
Among the other 13 men's lacrosse players named were Andrew Arkema (Economics and Business, 3.23), Sean Burek (Mathematics and Economics, 3.25), Mat Burke (Religious Studies, 3.25), Peter VanderDrift (Mathematics and Economics, 3.43), Dan Wernau (Mechanical Engineering, 3.54), Brian Cronise (Engineering/Economics and Business, 3.50), Matt Mozer (Economics and Business, 3.50), Steve Nastro (Engineering, 3.43), Matt Magrini (English, 3.43), Alex Heller (Government and Law, 3.60), David Vollmer (History, 3.50), Ed Daley (Government and Law, 3.30), and Kevin Dunbar (Government and Law, 3.33).
