LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Leopards (6-10, 0-2) lost their second straight Patriot League volleyball match, falling to Bucknell 3-0 on Saturday evening. The loss dropped Lafayette to 0-2 in league play.
Freshman Katrina Racibarskas had a team-best 15 kills and added five digs. Senior Michaela Donohue also had a solid day despite the loss, finishing with 10 digs and six kills. Kari Horn led the team in digs with 16 while Megan Carter tallied a team-high 28 assists.
The Leopards lost the first match 30-27. Lafayette at one point held a 22-21 lead and remained within one of the lead (27-26) until the Bison scored three of the final four points to secure the win. Racibarskas recorded six of her kills in the game.
The second game was not as competitive as the first, with Bucknell recording a 30-19 win over the Leopards. Horn had five digs in the game while Racibarskas led the team with four kills.
The third and final game saw the Bison again post a 30-27 win. Lafayette held the lead at 16-15, but could not hold on for the win. Freshmen Kayly Elmer and Racibarskas led the team with five kills each. Donohue had two kills and three digs against the Bison.
The Leopards close out a three game road trip when they travel to Delaware State on Wednesday, Sept. 28 for a non-conference match at 7 p.m.
Lafayette returns home to host Patriot League rival Lehigh on Friday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. The Leopards will hold a "Kids' Night" on Friday, with free admission, pizza and prizes. All Leopards fans are encouraged to come out and support their team as they take on the Mountain Hawks in a key Patriot League match up.
