HAMILTON, N.Y. - A 3-0 loss to Colgate eliminated the Lafayette women's volleyball team from contention for the fourth seed in next weekend's Patriot League Tournament. The Leopards, led in kills by Kayly Elmer's 12, dropped 25-15, 25-17 and 25-17 decisions to the Raiders.
The loss, combined with Bucknell's win over Lehigh, means the Leopards cannot earn the No. 4 seed in next weekend's Patriot League Tournament.
Elmer led Lafayette with her 12 kills while also adding four digs. Senior Megan Carter added 28 assists and Kari Horn led the team with 12 digs. Freshman Alana Taylor had three block assists, tied for the match-high. The Raiders moved to 13-13 on the season and 8-5 in league play.
Lafayette (12-17, 5-8) will wrap-up its 2008 season tomorrow with a 5 p.m. match at Bucknell.
