OSCEOLA, Fla. - Lafayette concluded its spring break trip with an 11-1 victory against Manhattan on Friday afternoon. The Leopards rebounded from an 11-0 loss to Wagner earlier in the final day of the Rebel Spring games.
Freshman Ali Henry threw the complete game, striking out seven Jasper batters. Senior Kristen Ruckno's lone hit of the afternoon was three-run homer in the seventh inning to give Lafayette an 8-1 advantage. Sophomore Kasey Karr and junior Robyn Matchett scored on the play.
Karr was 2-of-4 against Manhattan with an RBI and a run scored. Freshman Kerry Griffin was 3-of-4 with a run scored.
The Leopards dropped an 11-0 decision to Wagner in five innings to start the final day. Karr pitched four innings before freshman Christine Hilcken came in to close.
Lafayette softball opens the season at home on Tuesday, hosting Drexel for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
