ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Lafayette women's volleyball team kicked off a weekend of Patriot League action with a 3-0 win over Navy on Friday night in Annapolis. The victory snapped the Leopards' brief three-game skid.
Lafayette won in straight sets, 25-16, 25-23, 25-23. The team finished with an attacking percentage of .232 while holding Navy to a .172 percentage.
The Leopards (12-9, 3-5) used a balanced attack to defeat Navy (6-17, 1-7). Senior Cara Mulholland led the team with 12 kills and Kayly Elmer added 10. Ashton Rossi tied for the match high with 26 assists and Christy Mebust and Rossi combined for six of Lafayette's 10 service aces.
Lafayette has now split the season series with the Midshipmen after losing 3-2 on Sept. 26 in the teams' first meeting.
The Leopards wrap-up their weekend tomorrow with a 4 p.m. match at American.
