Lafayette looked strong in its first set, leading by as many as four points (24-21) before clinching the win on an attacking error.
The Raiders (13-11, 9-2) rebounded to take the second set by eight points. It was a close score early on, but Colgate broke a four-all tie and never looked back.
The third set was won by the Raiders in similar fashion. The Leopards were never able to get ahead at any point and a Logan Keala kill put Lafayette is a 2-1 hole through three sets.
The Leopards battled in the fourth and ultimately final set. Colgate was not able to put the Leopards securely away, as it remained tied 14-all on a Kayly Elmer kill. From that point on, however, the Leopards only managed six more points while the Raiders closed out the match on a block from Blaire Safir and Shannon Pearson.
Lafayette closes out its final homestand of the regular season tomorrow with a 4 p.m. match against Bucknell. The Leopards will honor the three members of its senior class - Kari Horn, Mulholland and Rossi - prior to the start of the match.
