ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Lafayette swimming and diving team competed for the second consecutive weekend on Saturday afternoon, taking part in a quad match against Navy, American and Bucknell. Reigning Patriot League Diver of the Week Kevin Oswalt was again victorious on the three-meter board.
Oswalt totaled 285.35 points on the three-meter board to take the lone Leopard victory of the afternoon.
Also highlighted on the men's side was a strong day from Cory Schutz. The sophomore finished third in the 100 meter (1:06.80) and fifth in the 200 meter (2:29.59) breastroke events.
Senior Aaron Lampley placed fifth in the 400 meter freestyle, touching in at 4:19.71 and was part of a 400 meter freestyle relay team (Jake Pagano, Stephen McCormick and Michael Black) that placed fourth at 3:44.73.
Senior Stephen Rubino also turned in a fifth place time in the 100 meter butterfly at 59.35.
On the women's side, junior diver Leah Goldberg was the top finisher for the Leopards. Goldberg totaled 217.45 points on the three-meter board to finish second on the day.
Freshmen Christina Brown and Dana Purdy turned in another strong day for the second consecutive week. Brown placed fifth in the 100 meter backstroke(1:08.17) and finished tied for fourth (2:23.93) in the 200 meter backstroke. Purdy placed fourth in the 100 meter breaststroke with a time of 1:16.45.
The men were victorious over American, while the women were 0-3 on the afternoon.
Lafayette resumes its first semester schedule on Friday, Nov. 20 when they take on archrival Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa.
