Volleyball Streak Comes to an End

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Lafayette women's volleyball team saw its six-match win streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon at the Charleston Riverview Classic. The Leopards dropped 3-0 decisions to South Florida and the College of Charleston.

Lafayette (7-3) opened the day against South Florida. The Bulls won in straight sets 25-22, 25-21 and 25-15. Katrina Racibarskas led the Leopards with seven kills while senior Kari Horn had a match-high nine digs. Ashton Rossi also led both squads with her 19 assists and Alana Taylor added five blocks.

The Leopards dropped another 3-0 decision in their second and final match of the tournament, this time to the host Cougars. Charleston took the match 25-23, 25-7 and 25-22. Kayly Elmer led the team in kills this time with eight and Rossi had nine digs to go along with 24 assists.

Lafayette is back home next Friday and Saturday to open Patriot League play when the Leopards host American on Friday and Navy on Saturday.
