EASTON, Pa. - Three Lafayette women's volleyball student-athletes earned spots on the 2009 Patriot League Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Senior Cara Mulholland led the way with her 3.75 grade-point average (GPA).
Joining Mulholland on the list is sophomore Alana Taylor (Undeclared, 3.32 GPA) and freshman Sarah Frohnapfel (English, 3.57 GPA).
Mulholland, an Economics and Business major, also boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.56 and is a four-time honor roll member. She was enrolled in four courses last semester--Intro to Computational Science, Intro to Finance, Money, Finance & the Economy and U.S. Constitutional History--in addition to a lab.
On the court, Mulholland appeared in all 27 of Lafayette's matches and led the team with 277 kills, averaging 2.92 per set. In addition to her academic work and on-court efforts, Mulholland also served as a peer mentor.
Taylor took two art classes as well as English and German courses. The sophomore played in 26 of Lafayette's 27 matches and led the team with a career-high 66 blocks. Over her first two seasons, she has amassed 119 blocks.
Finally, Frohanpfel was the lone Lafayette rookie to earn academic honors. She took the court in four matches, chipping in 30 assists and eight digs. Academically, she was enrolled in Cultural Anthropology, Literary Questions, Introduction to History: Slavery and Civil War in addition to her First Year Seminar course.
As a team, the Leopards boasted a 3.05 GPA and finished the fall with 14 wins, marking the sixth-straight season of double digit wins under head coach Terri Dadio Campbell.
