EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette volleyball team dropped a three-set match at Patriot League-leading American on Friday night. The Eagles took the contest by set scores of 25-8, 25-15 and 25-10.

With the loss, the Leopards fall to 4-16 overall and 0-6 in the Patriot League. American, off to its best start in program history, improves to 18-2 with a 6-0 mark in league play.

Lafayette's senior co-captains led the way offensively, with Katrina Racibarskas slamming a team-best seven kills and Kayly Elmer delivering with six kills and a team-high nine digs. Sophomore Sarah Frohnapfel ran the attack and doled out 12 assists.

The Leopards only scored on their own serve eight times in the match, hitting just .048 (22-18-84). The Eagles hit a scorching .413 (35-4-75) while also adding 11 aces to Lafayette's none and 8.5 blocks to the Leopards' one.

Individually, American's Magdalena Tekiel was the only player to reach double-figure kills with 13. Krysta Cicala doled out 16 assists in two sets of work, while Alexandra Hammer ran the offense in set three and finished with 14 assists. Deborah Frantz picked up 14 digs for the Eagles.

The Leopards are back in action tomorrow, as Patriot League play continues at Navy. First serve from Annapolis is scheduled for noon.
