It's Good to Be Back

Feb. 23, 2010

EASTON, Pa. - Following an eight-point performance in Lafayette's season-opening win at Fairfield, Steve Serling was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week.

Serling, who missed all of the 2009 season due to injury, returned to the field in a big way, chipping in five goals and three assists for an eight-point performance. The senior co-captain netted the first goal of the season for the Leopards to get the scoring started. He scored four more times, including the game's final goal that sealed the 15-10 victory.

This is the second career Offensive Player of the Week honor for the Economics and Business major. Serling also earned the honor during his sophomore season, one in which he scored 23 goals on the year and finished with 32 points.

Serling, who earned a 3.75 grade-point average during the fall semester, is enrolled in four courses this spring, including Investments, Media and Pop Culture in Africa, Social Memory and Music in Film.

The Leopards are back on the road Saturday with a 12 p.m. game at Binghamton.
