EASTON, Pa. - After controlling nearly the entire 60 minutes against No. 13 Navy on Friday night, the Lafayette men's lacrosse team continued its rise in the latest USILA Coaches and Nike/Inside Lacrosse polls.

The Leopards moved up to No. 11 in the USILA Coaches poll, and No. 15 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse poll, rankings based on the voting of the national lacrosse media.

Lafayette is 5-0 for the first time in school history. Its Friday night win was the first men's lacrosse victory over the Mids for the program.

The Leopards are one of two Patriot League squads ranked in the top-20. Bucknell, who will host Lafayette on Saturday, is currently ranked No. 18 in both polls. Navy received votes but dropped out of the top-20 rankings.

Lafayette picked apart the Mids 15-8 on Friday night behind four goals from junior Tom Perini, five points from sophomore Colin Serling and 17 saves from senior goalkeeper Vinny DePasquale. Perini's scoring streak now stands at 19 games, dating back to April 20, 2008, the 13th longest streak in the country.

The 15 goals were the most given up by Navy to a team other than Johns Hopkins since a 15-8 loss to Hofstra in the 1999 NCAA Tournament.

The Leopards lead the Patriot League in nearly every offensive category, including goals, assists and points. In addition, the Leopards are allowing a league-low 8.00 goals per game.

Lafayette's current six game win streak, dating back to last season's season-finale win over Lehigh is the longest Leopard streak since the 1984 season.

Lafayette is currently preparing for a road showdown with the No. 18 Bison on Saturday afternoon in Lewisburg. The game will be aired live on LSN All-Access beginning at 3:55 p.m.
