VILLANOVA, Pa. - Lafayette dropped both games to Villanova on Saturday afternoon. The Leopards fell 2-0 in the first game and the Wildcats threw a no-hitter in the second game to win 8-0 in five innings.
In the first game, six Leopards were able to get hits off pitcher Molly Manning. Villanova (7-13) scored its only two runs in the first inning when Manning and Kristi Burlin came around to score. The Wildcats ended up winning by the 2-0 score.
In the loss, Kasey Karr pitched six innings for Lafayette (7-9) giving up two runs and striking out two of 21 batters.
Two Villanova pitchers combined to pitch a no-hitter in the second game. Caitlyn Delahaba was credited with the win, pitching four innings, striking out four and walking two.
Junior Christine Hilcken pitched 2.1 innings in the loss, giving up six runs and striking out two.
Lafayette travels to Princeton on Sunday for a double-header beginning at 12:30 p.m.
