EASTON, Pa. - The Patriot League named Lafayette men's lacrosse senior co-captain Steve Serling its Offensive Player of the Week.
Serling was instrumental in the Leopards' 2-0 week, with two road wins at Marist and Holy Cross. He had two goals on Tuesday in Poughkeepsie, as Lafayette finished up its non-conference portion of the 2010 schedule with a 13-7 at Marist.
Four days later, he notched five goals as the Leopards came back to defeat Holy Cross 13-12 in overtime and remain undefeated in Patriot League play.
Serling is tied for the team-lead in goals with junior Tom Perini, each with 27 in 2010. He leads the team with 38 points.
He is 15 points shy of 100 career points after missing all of last season due to injury. It is the third time in his career he has been named the Patriot League's Offensive Player of the Week.
Lafayette is currently ranked No. 17 and 20 in the polls and 8-2 overall going into this weekend's league showdown with Colgate. If the Leopards are able to defeat the Raiders, they will clinch their first Patriot League tournament berth in school history.
NOTES:
Lafayette is 5-0 in road games in 2010.
