EASTON, Pa. -
The No. 19 Lafayette men's lacrosse team controls its own tournament seeding destiny going into the final two games of the season, beginning with a Tuesday evening showdown with first place No. 20 Army in Fisher Stadium at 7 p.m.
The Leopards (8-3, 3-1) have already clinched its first-ever spot in the Patriot League Tournament. If Lafayette defeats Army and Lehigh in its final two contests of the regular season, the Leopards will be the number one seed in the four-team Patriot League tournament, set for April 30.
Fans unable to attend Tuesday night's showdown will be able to watch the game live on LSN All-Access beginning at 6:55 p.m. Dan Mowdy will have the play-by-play call with Shawn Langen supplying the analysis.
Lafayette is coming off its first road loss of the season at Colgate on Friday night. The Leopards trailed just 8-7 going into the fourth quarter before the Raiders outscored Lafayette 6-2 in the final 15 minutes.
The Leopards, who received votes in both national polls this week, will turn to its balanced attack to match-up with a stingy Army defense that allowed just six goals in its 7-6 win over Navy on Saturday afternoon.
The Black Knights (6-5, 4-0) are in a similar position to Lafayette, as they can wrap up the top seed in the tournament by defeating Lafayette. Army is led by junior attack Jeremy Boltus (16 goals, 24 assists) and goalkeeper Tom Palesky in the cage. Palesky has totaled 110 saves in 10 games this season.
Tuesday night's game will mark the first-ever night game at Fisher Stadium for the men's lacrosse program.
