EASTON, Pa. - Recent graduate and 2010 co-captain Steve Serling has been asked to participate 2010 Lax World/USILA North vs. South game, a game highlighting some of the nation's top players throughout the year.
Serling, the 2010 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, will be a member of the South team. The game will be held at Goucher College in Towson, Md., just miles from the 2010 Final Four, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The game will be preceded by the Division III game at 3 p.m.
Tickets will be available for five dollars each on game-day only.
Serling amassed 37 goals and 12 assists during his senior season on College Hill. He was Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week twice throughout the year. In only three years of game action, Serling totaled 96 career points.
He played a vital part in Lafayette's success in 2010, a year that saw the Leopards ranked for the majority of the year and claim its first berth in the Patriot League Tournament.
The honor is the first time Lafayette will be represented in the North vs. South game, a contest that began in 1940. While Serling is the first Leopard, he is the second member of his family to play in the prestigious game. Steve's father, Rob, played for Ithaca and was a member of the North squad in 1982.
