EASTON, Pa. - The Maroon and White will host the Brown and White on Saturday at Kirby Sports Center in the first basketball meeting between Lafayette and Lehigh since the 2010 Patriot League Tournament championship game in March. Lafayette (7-12, 2-2) enters the weekend a game ahead of the Mountain Hawks (10-9, 1-3) in the conference standings.
Lafayette and Lehigh have split the last six outings, including the last two which were decided by two and three points. Over the last nine meetings, the average margin of victory has been 9.7 points which includes an 18-point win by Lafayette on Feb. 23, 2008, the largest margin in the span. Lafayette holds a definite advantage against their most frequent rival, owning a 138-75 mark against Lehigh.
Jared Mintz has 1,043 points and moved into 33rd place after a 10-point game at Bucknell. Mintz needs one point to move into 32nd place, currently held by Andy Wescoe '90.
The Mountain Hawks come into Saturday's game having lost two straight and three of their last four. Lehigh is 1-3 in conference play with a win over Navy (71-63) and losses to American (82-75), Army (75-72) and Colgate (80-79).
Sophomore guard C.J. McCollum accounts for 30 percent of Lehigh's offense, averaging a conference-best 21.6 ppg. He also leads the team and is third in the Patriot League in rebounding at 6.9 per game. Senior Michael Ojo and freshman Mackey McKnight occupy spots in the starting five. Ojo is averaging 12.5 points per game. McKnight leads the team with 3.6 assists per game while chipping in 8.3 ppg.
Up front, sophomore forward Gabe Knutson is one of three players on the team to average double figures (12.2 ppg) while adding 6.1 rpg in 19 starts. Sophomore Holden Greiner (5.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg) and senior David Safstrom (1.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg) also have spent time in the starting lineup.

Lafayette hits the road for a two-game swing, first against Army on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tip. The Leopards will take on American on Saturday at 4 p.m. in a game that will be aired live on CBS-College Sports.
