Spring Break Trip Continues

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Day three of the Rebel Spring Games saw Lafayette's offensive struggles continue as the Leopards managed just one run in a pair of losses to Siena and Columbia.

In the first game of the day, Siena shut out the Leopards 4-0. More information on that matchup is forthcoming.

In the second game, Columbia scored at least one run in four different innings on its way to a 6-1 final.

The Lions put up a run in the second and third innings to take the early lead. Tristin Moone (single) and Jennifer Bergeron (double) each knocked in runs.

Columbia put away the game with four runs over the fifth and sixth innings. The Lions scored on a wild pitch and then Karen Tulig used an infield single to plate a second run in the fifth, as Columbia led 4-0.

In the sixth, Anne Marie Skylis' two-out single scored two more for Columbia.

The Leopards put their lone run across in the sixth. Carly Feiro singled to right and moved all the way to third base when the fielder missed the ball. Amy Gebhardt drove in Feiro with a single to right to run the final to 6-1.

Ali Henry went all seven for the Leopards, surrendering six runs on 11 hits with two walks and no strikeouts. Prophet Gaspard was the winner, scattering one run on nine hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

Lafayette will have Monday off from tournament play, but will battle Houston Baptist and Akron on Tuesday.
