EASTON, Pa. - Princeton's size, experience and defensive pressure led the Tigers to a 72-53 victory over Lafayette in the first game for both teams following the Thanksgiving holiday.

Princeton (2-3) senior forward Ian Hummer, one of two seniors and three juniors in the Tigers' starting lineup, led all scorers with 28 points on 12-of-16 shooting. Two other Tigers reached double figures as senior center Brendan Connolly tallied 17 points and Will Barrett put in 13.

Lafayette sophomore forward Dan Trist, returned after missing the previous three games with an ankle injury, and senior guard Tony Johnson led the Leopards with 10 points apiece while sophomore guard Joey Ptasinski scored eight points. Leopard senior forward Levi Giese recorded seven points and tied for a game-high with seven rebounds.

Lafayette, which started a pair of seniors and three sophomores, was held to season-lows in overall (35.2%) and three-point (20%) field goal percentage. The Leopards came into the game averaging 10.4 three-point field goals per game and were held to three, also a season low.

Princeton, which went out to a 19-4 lead to start the game, controlled the boards with a 39-23 advantage as well as points in the paint, outscoring Lafayette 44-24.

The Leopards travel to West Long Branch, N.J. for a 7 p.m. game Monday at Monmouth before returning to Kirby Sports Center to host Delaware at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Monday's game at Monmouth can be heard via a free audio broadcast through GoLeopards.com/allaccess

The Leopards committed fewer turnovers (12) than their opponent (17) for the second straight game
