Providence, R.I. - Emily Homan made key contributions on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor in the final minute to steal the game from Brown on Sunday afternoon. The junior received a pass from Jamie O'Hare, and made the layup to put the Leopards ahead, 70-69. On Brown's final possession, Homan swatted a shot with two seconds left to preserve the victory.

Homan led all scorers with 21 points and recorded her first double-double of the season with 13 rebounds. O'Hare finished with 19 points and four assists, while Danielle Fiacco tallied 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Ashley Lutz knocked down a three from the top of the key to give Lafayette a 9-8 lead at the first media timeout. Emily Homan and Danielle Fiacco scored eight of the Leopards first 15 points on the low block, but Brown was able to knock down a couple threes to keep pace early in the first, 15-14 Lafayette with 11:48 to play in the half.

After Lafayette took a five-point lead, the Bears went on a 10-0 run to take a 30-25 lead with under four minutes to play. Brown maintained the five-point cushion, and Lafayette went to the break trailing, 36-31. Brown went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc in the first half, while the Leopards were 1-for-6.

Out of the break, the Leopards were able to cut the lead to four, 44-40, after O'Hare drove the lane for the score and the foul. After swatting a shot on the defensive end, Fiacco cut the lead to two, 44-42. Maddie Peabody sliced into the deficit again, burying a three-pointer from the wing making the score, 46-45 Brown.

The Leopards were able to break the Brown pressure and take the lead for the first team in the second half, 47-46, on an O'Hare layup with 14:15 on the clock. Brown opened up a 53-49 advantage midway through the half. Lafayette trimmed away at the lead as Kelly Loughney found O'Hare all alone for an easy bucket, making it 56-53, with 7:34 remaining.

Another good dish from Loughney found Homan down low for the basket and the foul. Homan completed the three-point play to make it, 58-56, with under seven minutes left to play. Linnel Macklin drove baseline and kicked to O'Hare who buried a three from the corner making it 60-59 at the 5:21 mark.

After a defensive stop, Lafayette took the lead as Brya Freeland hit a floater in the lane. On Brown's next two possessions, they buried a three from the corner and then made a layup and converted the three-point play to push the deficit to 66-61.

Homan converted a pair of free throws and a put back layup to trim the lead to 69-66 with 2:03 on the clock. After a defensive stop, O'Hare got fouled and knocked down both to pull Lafayette to within a point, 69-68.

After a huge defensive stop, O'Hare lobbed a pass over the top to Homan for an easy bucket with 24.5 seconds on the clock to give the Leopards a one-point lead, 70-69. On Brown's final possession, Homan denied a Bears player at the basket to win the game for Lafayette.

Lafayette scored the final nine points of the game to earn its first road victory of the season and improve to 2-0. The Leopards return to action on Friday night when they host Columbia at 8 p.m.
