EASTON, Pa. - A pair of goals by senior striker Peter Adubato lifted Lafayette over Bryant on Sunday afternoon at Oaks Stadium. Adubato tallied the first two goals of the contest and Lafayette eventually came away with the 2-1 win.

The Leopards got on the board first in the 27th minute when they took advantage of a set piece just outside the Bryant penalty area. Bryan White sent in the service just outside the six-yard box where Adubato headed it past Bulldogs keeper Chris Knaub.

Knaub was busy in the opening half and was forced to make three saves, while also dealing with a number of Lafayette free kicks. On the other end, Lafayette keeper Nathan McDonald made one save on Bryant's lone shot on target.

The Bulldogs put together a bit of pressure early in the second stanza and earned a free kick near the goal line just outside the area. McDonald was able to come off his line on the service and punch it away before Bryant's Chris McCormick fired a long shot that the Leopard keeper smothered with ease.

A free-kick 23 yards out for Bryant in the 74th minute set the Bulldogs up for an excellent chance to tie the score at 1-1, but Shane Murphy's shot was right at McDonald, who had no trouble with the chance. Several minutes later on the other end, Jeff McLaughlin got on the end of a corner kick and put it on frame, but Knaub was there to take care of business.

The Leopards continued to apply pressure and got their second goal when Chandler Fraser-Pauls sent a pass across the top of the Bulldogs' 18-yard box. Adubato was the recipient and controlled the bouncing ball before unleashing a right-footed side volley into the back of the goal past a diving Knaub. The goal was scored at the 78:07 mark.

A little more than three minutes later, a throw-in deep in the Leopards' defensive third allowed Bryant to cut the deficit in half. Similar to Adubato's first goal, Connor Norat came across the face of goal and headed the ball past McDonald. The assist on the throw-in was credited to McCormick.

The Leopards remained unbeaten with the victory, improving to 1-0-1 on the year. Knaub totaled five saves for the Bulldogs, while McDonald tallied three. Lafayette held a 6-0 advantage in corners and 9-5 in shots.

Lafayette's next game is scheduled for Wednesday at 4 p.m. when it takes on St. Peter's in Jersey City, N.J.
