BOSTON, Mass. - The Lafayette women's soccer team ran into an offensive powerhouse in Boston, Mass. on Saturday afternoon, falling to Boston U., 6-1.
The Terriers opened the scoring just 3:27 into the contest when Kai Miller found the back of the net off a corner feed from Taylor Krebs to put Boston U. up, 1-0. Erica Kosiensky flicked a ball past Lafayette sophomore goalkeeper Danielle Sedillo in the 26th minute to add to the lead with the Terriers' second of the day.
Following the intermission, the home team scored early and often as goals in the 56th, 59th, 63rd, and 66th minutes opened up the game to a 6-0 advantage. The Leopards finally escaped the shutout with four minutes remaining as sophomore Kaelin King slotted in an unassisted marker for the team's only goal.
Sedillo made two saves in 72 minutes of action before she was relieved by freshman Kelly O'Brien, who made one save in her 18 minutes of play. Alyssa Paris started for the Terriers and made one save in 64:27 of game action, before she gave way to Bridget Conway, who finished the final 25:33 between the pipes.
Boston U. led the way in shots, 13-3, and corner-kick opportunities, 3-1. King and junior Allie Torru were the shottakers for Lafayette with King putting one of her two in the back of the net.
Next up for Lafayette is their final non-conference game of the season, hosting NJIT on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
