LEWISBURG, Pa. - Despite possessing the majority of the scoring chances in the game, a long strike from Bucknell's Brigit Falcon in the 92nd minute found the back of the net as the Lafayette women's soccer team fell on the wrong end of a 2-1 score on Wednesday evening in Lewisburg.

The Leopards held the lead for three-quarters of the contest, clinging to a 17th-minute scoring tally as the only goal until the Bison came through in the 74th minute with a goal of their own. Lafayette worked a free kick at the top of the Bucknell defensive box midway through the first half and senior co-captain Alex Reisinger sent a perfect dipping ball over the wall and into the left side-netting for the early advantage.

The Maroon and White were solid defensively throughout the first half and into the second before the Bison broke through with scoring chances beginning in the 60th minute. A cross into the middle was kicked around before a Bucknell forward sent a back-heal shot on goal. Lafayette sophomore goalkeeper Danielle Sedillo made a great diving save to her left to keep it out.

Unfortunately, the Bison kept coming as a corner in the 74th minute deflected off a Lafayette defender on an attempted clear, hit the near-side post, and crept over the goal line for the equalizing tally. As the game moved to an extra session, Bucknell carried the momentum on its sideline.

Just two minutes into the first overtime period, Falcon let it rip from about 30 yards out to the left of goal and beat Sedillo high and on the far side for the gamewinner.

Sedillo was excellent in the contest despite the defeat, recording seven saves on 16 shots faced. Bucknell led the way offensively in shots, 16-10, and corners, 10-2.

The Leopards return to action on Saturday, traveling to West Point, N.Y. for a matchup with Army at 7 p.m.
