Lewisburg, Pa. - Lafayette volleyball fell to Bucknell on the road in Lewisburg, Pa. on Saturday, 3-0. The Leopards attack was led by Jet Manzi with seven kills and Danielle Towslee with six kills.

The Maroon and White moved to 4-13 overall and 1-4 in Patriot League play. Bucknell improved to 2-3 in League play and 3-11 overall. Lauren Pisauro led the Leopards with 16 digs, while Samantha Volk handed out a team-high nine assists.

The Bison used a 7-2 run to start the set to build an early lead they would maintain throughout the set. A pair of kills from Elizabeth Walsh cut the deficit to 9-5, but a 3-0 spurt from Bucknell increased the lead to seven. Katy Rooney tallied a kill, followed by an attack error from the Bison to pull within five, but that was as close as the Leopards would get. Bucknell took the opening game, 25-16.

The Leopards opened up an early 7-3 advantage in the second set on kills from Towslee, Manzi and Flynn. The Bison climbed back into the game and tied the score at 12. A 6-3 run from Lafayette, highlighted by kills from Tori Smith, Rooney, Manzi and Towslee. After a Bucknell timeout, the Bison were able to tie the set at 22. The teams exchanged points before a pair of block from Bucknell handed the Bison a 28-26 set two win.

Bucknell opened the third game with a 13-5 run. Lafayette was able to trim the deficit to six, 16-10, on back-to-back kills from Towslee. Trailing by ten late in the set, blocks from Brianne Giangiobbe and Kelly Flynn, followed by a block from Flynn and Walsh, cut the lead to 22-14, but Bucknell was able to win the third frame, 25-17, and the match, 3-0.

Lafayette is back in action with a pair of home matches Friday and Saturday.
