Annapolis, Md. - Emily Homan's bucket with six seconds left gave Lafayette a 70-69 win over Patriot League leading Navy on Saturday night. The Leopards moved to 5-5 in league play and became the first Patriot League team to defeat Navy this season.

With the Leopards leading by a point, Navy's Jade Geif hit a turnaround jumper with 18 ticks on the clock to give the Mids a one-point lead. On Lafayette's final possession, Kelly Loughney fed Homan in the post, who turned and scored with six seconds left to propel the Leopards to a 70-69 win.

Madeline Fahan scored the first five points for the Leopards, knocking down a three and a driving layup in the opening minute of the game. Lafayette held an early 8-6 lead at the under 16 media timeout. Kelly Loughney completed a three-point play to make it 14-13 with 11 and a half minutes to play in the first.

Navy used a 7-2 spurt midway through the first half to take a 20-16 advantage with 8:30 on the clock. Loughney ended the run with a pair of triples with under six to play in the opening half. The Mids extended their lead to five on a three from Audrey Bauer with 3:22 left in the opening frame.

Macklin buried another three from the corner to push the lead to five, 62-57, with under seven minutes to play. Navy's Chloe Stapleton answered for the Mids with a three at the other end, followed by a Jade Geif jumper to tie the game with five minutes left in the second half.

Once again, Loughney was there for the Leopards with a baseline jumper to regain the lead, 64-62. Stapleton buried another three for the Mids to give them a 65-64 lead at the final media timeout.
