BALTIMORE - Double-doubles from Danielle Fiacco and Emily Homan pushed the Leopards pas Loyola 58-45 in Patriot League play Wednesday. Fiacco registered her second double-double in as many games, and Homan picked up her fourth in the last seven games.

Lafayette used a 12-2 run in the second half to build a 13-point lead, 50-37, with five minutes left. The Leopards went on to lead by as many as 17 and improved to 7-6 in Patriot League play, while Loyola moved to 2-11 in the league.

Fiacco powered the Leopards with 14 points and 14 rebounds, and Homan finished with 10 and 10. Maddie Pebody and Linnel Macklin chipped in with nine points apiece. The Leopards held a 55-29 edge on the glass, including 19 offensive boards.

A 7-0 run from Lafayette capped off with a three-pointer from Macklin gave the Leopards a 7-2 advantage with 15 minutes to play in the first half. A three from Jamie O'Hare midway through the first half pushed the Lafayette lead to eight, 15-7.

Lafayette extended its advantage to 12, 21-9, with six and a half minutes to play in the opening frame. Peabody answered a four-point Loyola spurt with a triple, followed by a fast break layup from Annette Snow to increase the lead to 13, 26-13.

Loyola used a 9-0 run late in the first half to cut the Lafayette lead to four, 26-22. A three from Macklin, followed by a last second shot by Fiacco sent the Leopards to the break with a 31-22 advantage.

Peabody opened the scoring in the second half with a driving lay in on the Leopards opening possession. Madeline Fahan's jumper at the 16 minute mark extended the Lafayette edge to 12, 38-26. Loyola used a 6-0 run to trim the lead to six with 12:46 to play. Nicole Krusen extended the Greyhound spurt to nine in a row with a three from the corner.

The Leopards answered with a 12-2 spurt to build a 13-point lead with five minutes to play. Consecutive three-point plays from Fiacco highlighted the Lafayette run, as the Leopards knocked down eight free throws during the spurt.

Out of the final media timeout, Macklin and Kelly Loughney scored on back-to-back possessions to increase the Leopards lead to 17 and Lafayette went on to beat Loyola, 58-45.

Lafayette remains on the road this weekend when the Leopards visit American on Saturday at 2 p.m.
