Annapolis, Md. - Emily Homan finished with a double-double 17 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough, as Navy got past Lafayette, 65-52, on Saturday night at Alumni Hall. The loss snapped the Leopards season-best three-game winning streak.

Lafayette (8-5, 1-1 PL) struggled from the field, shooting a season-low 28.4 percent from the field. Ashley Lutz grabbed a game-high 15 boards to go with eight points in the loss, while Jamie O'Hare chipped in ten points for the Leopards. Navy (7-6, 1-1 PL) knocked down seven three-pointers, including five in the first half. Navy was led by Taylor Dunham with 15 points in the contest.

Navy jumped out to an early 10-2 advantage, knocking down a pair of threes in the opening minutes. A three-point play from Emily Homan trimmed the deficit to 15-12 with 12:47 to go in the first half. The Mids extended the lead to eight with six and a half minutes to play in the opening period.

O'Hare's triple from the corner at the 3:45 mark cut the gap to four, 28-24. A steal, leading to a layup from Maddie Peabody made it a two point game. Navy countered with a 7-2 run to take a 35-28 lead into the break.

O'Hare knocked down another three from the top of the key, making it a five-point game early in the second half. The Mids used a 6-2 spurt to bump their lead to ten, 48-38, with 14 and a half minutes to play.

A floater from Lutz, followed by a Homan lay-in moved the Leopards to within six, 48-42, but Navy extended the lead to 15 on back-to-back threes from Hannah Fenske and Sarah Reilly with 8:23 to play.

Anna Ptasinski's triple from the corner sliced the deficit to 12, and a follow from Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby made it a ten-point spread, 59-49 with 3:51 on the clock. Navy scored the next four points to increase its lead to 14, and the Mids held to beat the Leopards, 65-52.

Lafayette returns to College Hill for a pair of games Jan. 7 against Bucknell and Jan. 10 versus Boston University.

Notes:

Homan scored in double figures for the 14th straight game and picked up her second double-double of the season.

Lutz set a career-high with 15 rebounds.
