HAMILTON, N.Y. - Colgate closed the game on an 18-6 to take down Lafayette, 49-36, on Wednesday night in Patriot League women's basketball action. Jamie O'Hare led the Leopards with a team-high 11 points.

The Raiders (7-21, 6-11 PL) outscored the Leopards 14-0 in points off turnovers, forcing Lafayette (13-15, 6-11 PL) into a season-high 24 turnovers. Randyll Butler and Mariah Jones led Colgate, scoring 14 and 12 points, respectively. Ashley Lutz finished with nine points and eight rebounds in the loss.

O'Hare scored four of Lafayette's first nine points, as the Leopards opened a 9-6 lead to open the game. A seven-point spurt highlighted by an O'Hare triple pushed the lead to 16-7 midway through the period.

Colgate used a 7-2 run to cut the spread to three, 20-17, with 4:12 to play in the opening half. A long scoring drought for both teams to end the half, sent the Leopards into the break with a 20-17 advantage.

A three from the Raiders' Carole Harris trimmed the Lafayette tied the game at 21, early in the second half. After a Linnel Macklin bucket, Colgate knocked down another triple from the top of the key to take a 25-24 lead.

A midrange jumper from O'Hare at the 11-minute mark made it a one-point game, 31-30. Colgate extended the deficit to 33-30 with nine minutes to play. O'Hare slowed the Raiders run with a floater at the seven-minute mark, making it 35-32.

A steal from Colgate's Randyll Butler led to a fast break layup and the Raiders opened an eight-point lead with five minutes to play. O'Hare found Lutz for two with 3:35 on the clock, cutting the margin to 40-34.

Another five-point run from the Raiders extended the deficit to 11 with a minute and a half to play. The Raiders knocked down four from the charity stripe in the final minute and knocked off the Leopards, 49-36.

Lafayette will close out the regular season on Saturday at Army.
