WEST POINT, N.Y. - An 11-2 run from Army midway through the second half pushed the Black Knights past the Leopards on Saturday afternoon. Emily Homan and Linnel Macklin both finished with 12 points to lead the Leopards.

Lafayette moved to 6-12 in Patriot League play, setting up a matchup with either Boston University or Loyola on Wednesday night. Lafayette will host the Terriers with a Colgate loss tonight against Lehigh. The Greyhounds will come to College Hill if Colgate defeats the Mountain Hawks.

Ashley Lutz finished with nine points and a game-high 13 rebounds in the loss. Army improved to 22-6 this season, including a 14-4 mark in league play finishing the regular season in second place. The Black Knights were led by Kelsey Minato's game-high 19 points.

Macklin scored five of Lafayette's first seven points to help the Leopards build a 7-4 lead at the 12-minute mark of the first half. After an eight-point spurt from the Black Knights pushed Army ahead 12-7, Lutz knocked down a triple to trim the deficit to three.

Another three from Lutz made it a one-point five minutes to play in the first half. Army bumped its lead to 24-17 late in the first half before Macklin buried a three from the corner to make it a four-point spread. The Black Knights increased the margin to 27-21 at the break.

Lutz hit her third three of the afternoon to open the scoring in the second half. A jumper from Macklin and two from the free throw line from Homan cut the deficit to one, 29-28. Sammy Stipa's pass to Homan on the block gave Lafayette a 32-31 lead with 15 minutes to play.

The Black Knights used an 11-2 spurt over the next five minutes to take 42-34 lead. Army's Minato knocked down a three from the corner to push the lead to double figures, 46-34 with six minutes to play.

A bucket inside from Homan followed by a three from Jamie O'Hare trimmed the margin to seven at the 5:25 mark. The Black Knights increased the deficit to 14 with three minutes to play and went on to win 57-41.

The Leopards will host either Boston University or Loyola in a Patriot League Tournament First Round game on Wednesday night.
