SENIOR DAY: Lafayette will honor its four seniors on Sunday at noon. Allison Brown, Bryn Gornick, Alex Jacinto and Stephanie Schreiber will be recognized prior to the Colgate series finale.
COMING UP: The Leopards travel to Marist for a Wednesday doubleheader. Lafayette closes out the regular season next weekend in a three-game series at Army.
PLAYING THE FIELD: With a .966 fielding percentage, Lafayette is on pace to set a new single-season fielding mark, topping the previous record of .957 in 2008. All three seasons of head coach Jexx Varner's tenure rank in the top 10 in that category.
ABOUT THE YOUTH: Lafayette is one of 28 teams in the nation to feature 10 or more freshmen and sophomores on its roster. The youngsters make up 56 percent of the roster.
DOUBLES: Senior Allison Brown needs three doubles to break the single-season record of 14 set by Christina Giambrone in 2008.
ABOUT COLGATE: The Raiders come into the weekend at 8-27 overall and 3-9 in Patriot League play. Colgate has lost its last five games, most recently taking Army to extra innings on Thursday before dropping a 4-3 decision in a makeup game from the opening weekend of conference play. Like the Leopards, Colgate took two of three from Holy Cross, while also adding a Patriot League win over Army on April 2.
Junior outfielder Katie Bushee leads the team in nearly every offensive category, including batting average (.319), runs (18), hits (36), doubles (10) and RBIs (15).
Senior Brigitt Ieuter (4-12) and sophomore Kyle Griswold (3-12) have split time in the circle, each with 81 innings pitched.
