Box Score EASTON, Pa. -- The Lafayette College volleyball team saw two comeback attempts in the third and fourth sets fall short in a 3-1 loss to Saint Peter's on Monday night at
Kirby Sports Center.
After dropping the opening set, 25-8, the Leopards (0-2) came roaring back to win the second set, 25-21, behind freshman
Grace Tulevech's five kills in the frame and team .355 hitting percentage.
Overall, Tulevech recorded a team-high 13 kills to go along with 12 digs and two service aces.
Saint Peter's (2-3) was paced by Alanis Alvarado who had a game-high 15 kills for the Peacocks.
After falling behind 11-7 in the second set, Lafayette went on a 15-7 scoring run that started off with a freshman
Leanna Deegan kill to spark the Leopards.

Katrina Ruggiero finished the match with 11 kills apiece, while junior
Julia Howard tallied 36 assists.
In the third set, the Maroon and White fell behind 19-15 before rattling off four unanswered points, highlighted by two kills by Tulevech and another by Ruggiero to tie the game. The Leopards ran out of gas though, dropping the set 25-20.
A slow start, in what would be the final set, plagued the Leopards who dropped the fourth game, 25-21, to lose the match.
Lafayette returns to action when it plays host to the Crosstown Tournament Aug. 31-Sept. 1. The Leopards will welcome Manhattan, Coppin State, Rutgers and Rider to College Hill for the two-day event.
