EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College volleyball team dropped a pair of games on Saturday after making a quick turnaround in the Crosstown Tournament at
Kirby Sports Center.
After playing nine combined sets on Friday, the Leopards (2-3) played their first match of the day at 10 a.m. when they fell to Rutgers (4-4), 3-0.
In the match, freshman
Grace Tulevech led the Maroon and White with nine kills, while classmate
Leanna Deegan tallied seven and hit .400.
In the afternoon match, Lafayette went the distance with Rider (1-2), but would eventually fall, 3-2.
Deegan set a new personal best with 12 kills against the Broncs, going 12-3-26 and hitting .346. Tulevech matched her with 12 kills while adding 12 digs.
Junior
Julia Howard helped set those freshmen up with 35 assists, while adding 10 digs, three kills and two service aces.
The Leopards get a well-deserved week off as they'll compete in the Dartmouth University Tournament Sept. 7-8, where Lafayette will square off against Boston College, Dartmouth and Siena.
